Life in Antibes – Vallauris fête Picasso

Last weekend we went to the Picasso festival over in Vallauris. The festival is known for its elaborate fire installations, and while I don’t readily associate Picasso with being an arsonist I’m glad someone does because they were rather impressive.

If your thinking about visiting the South Riviera I heartily advise coming mid-June, the week before the Picasso festival is Bastille Day which involves two nights of fireworks off the coast (launched from boats). If you find yourself a good spot you can watch a couple of displays at once!
